Craigthran, Tops of Fichell and The Aud loop – Glenmoy (05/05/21)

Brief Description

I'd drove that day planning to walk up the straight forward track to Dog Hillock and perhaps on to Hill of Glansie, but the snow level was about 600m and may have made walking up the track quite difficult. Instead, I though I would do the Tops of Fichell loop & Craigthran again. On the walk in I thought, why not in reverse, this now being the 3rd time doing this loop.

Walk Description

Stayed dry for me all through the walk. A bit snow on the climb up from the glen to the Tops of Fichell and again dropping from the 578m top to the 550m top. Another 4-wheel drive on the way up the track to the tops, then a further one passed down before the ruins, then a Range Rover at the ruins. Seen a dead Ewe just after the bridge from The Aud. Back at the car the Range Rover stopped and the elderly driver was in charge of the sheep so informed him where the Ewe was.
